Hotel guest rooms - other than mobility access required rooms

2013 CBC, Sections 11B-224.1.2 and 11B-603.6 require that bathrooms in hotel guest rooms, which are not required to provide mobility access, are nonetheless required to provide a bathroom door that is 32-inch clear and enough space within the bathroom for a wheelchair to touch all fixtures.

If such guest rooms on the upper floors of an older, non-elevator hotel are remodeled, do you think the CBC requirements for the width of the bathroom door and space to touch all fixtures would apply to alteration project?
