When establishing the assumed property line between two buildings on the same property, how are large mechanical units (chillers, fans, condensers, etc)that are placed between the buildings taken into consideration? Are they considered as part of the structure and the setback is established from their face of wall?
Also, the use of the "assumed property line" [or lot line] is important. For some things, such as determining the weighted average for a frontage increase, the space is important. For separation and exterior wall rating [or opening protection] it's different...
So, for this, I agree with Mark, not a code issue, and with Wayne, that it may be a zoning issue.
