sidewalk cross-slope tie-in

Hello,

I have what I hope to be a pretty simple question. I have an ADA access sidewalk with a cross slope of 1%. We are tying into a perpendicular sidewalk with a slope of 3.29%. We have offset 10' from the sidewalk we are tying into to begin our transition.

My question is, is this ADA compliant and if not, what can we do to make it compliant?

I suggest you demo part of the existing walk where you are going to tie-in. Create a level landing at the intersection of the two routes. You'll need to chase a little bit of the existing walk to tie back in but you should be able to do this at 5% or less running slope.
